finally got the bits for a new build, have an issue with the current one thats a pain with the odd bsod but it wont post anything specific, its a general bsod from research.

so..
i5 3570k..
asus p8z77 v ..
noctua nh14d cooler ..
8 gb gskill 2133 mhz ram ..

not quite upto stu's monster but should be fun ... now to build the thing

what? no GPU?

Pretty much the same spec as mine except for I went for 16gb of gskill, and the cooler. There was no way I could fit the Noctua in my case and still use RAM

Omg this noctua is damn hoooooge ... all fitted and currently loading win 7 64 ultimate ..
Lost the top half of the case ...

Yeah it is stupid big. However, cools better than starter entry water coolers so its pretty efficient.
Have to ask though, how on earth did you get your RAM in? is it low level or something?

I used to be well into this but not got the spare cash/time to throw at computers like i did a few years ago, now id just go to a shop and buy one

thanks for the comments, yeah did take one or 5 attempts to get the cables in a good position so they fell naturally rather than bending or forcing them.. the bottom fan is far too loud so will be removed when i can find some uuuuber quiet ones.

currently trying to decide if its worth selling the 6870 around £80 ish on ebay.. and getting a 7950 cheapest i have found is £220
OR
wait till the latter part of the year to see what the 8000 series brings ??
OR get another 6870 and xfire ..
