Default Vodaphone and iPhone tethering question

Ive got a friend asking me how they would connect a laptop to their iPhone Internet. Now I know how to do it but I need to know if voda enable tethering automatically or will we have to ring them? And also would there be extra charges? On three I didn't have to do anything it just worked.

She's got unlimited net with voda. Knowing them she will have to pay for tethering lol

I had "unlimited" with O2 and then when I went to tether one night in work it told me to phone a number to set up an "account" for it.
A week later I got a message telling me I was using too much data, even though its unlimited.
Ditched em and went with three, best move I ever made.

Ahh right, thanks for that chap

That's what's great about Three, 100% unlimited and no messing about setting up tethering

3 is indeed unlimited and tethering is included at no extra charge. On Vodafone it's included on their Red plan. It's the unltd mins, unltd text and 1Gb data (but you can bolt on more data if required). For reference, Vodafone don't do unltd data on any of their plans. I know as I sell mobile communications for a living.
