Default Any TV Techies about?

I have an ASDA bought Luxor LCD TV that has decided to be awkward. The TV itself works but it has developed a few issues I think are linked.

When on standby the blue standby light (used to stay on solid) flashes constantly with a set rhythm and when watching digital TV, if I press the source button it does nothing. It also won't autoswitch to DVD when a disc is inserted.
If I go into the main set up menu I can get the DVD player to work and then the source button will work until the TV is back on digital TV again.

Anyone got any idea as to the fault it has and if it's worthwhile fixing or replace as the main TV and use this one as my gaming TV.

Maybe a long shot but worth a try, change the batteries in the remote, seems strange the way the source button will work once you go through a menu!
