Default Netbook help

Can anyone help? Is there a way to reinstall Windows 7 without a recovery disc? Reason for asking is, my gf has a netbook, no disc drive so obviously didn't come with a recovery disc. She's tried doing something with it, system recovery I think, and its flashed up an error message that windows 7 cannot be reinstalled.

Theres obviously a bit more to it, but any clues as to what the problem is, and how to solve it?

Thanks

Sounds like the recovery partition has been destroyed somehow. Had a similar problem on my laptop last week infact, hard drive ate itself so had to replace, hopefully yours hasn't.

Does it have usb? If so do you know anybody with a usb disc writer?

If not i know a place for a free download of the full windows 7, you'll have to use your activation code on the bottom of the laptop to activate it, providing its still there and readable, then if i can find the program, it will enable you to install it from a pen drive.

Google windows 7 USB. It will take you to a program that will make it into a bootable USB. You will need another computer with a cd drive and a copy of windows to create it though
