another old laptop i have decided to get out cupboard and use in living room as have new pc in bedroom


its running xp

now i presume the last owner done a full xo reinstall as it has nothing installed, all the windows updates and patches are not present, i go to windows website it searches my pc to see wot updates i need then throws an error due to me not being able to run active x control or somin like that?


also cant log onto ebay etc for same reason

cant set the pooter to automaticly update itself as the tick box's etc are faded and not accessable


due to no updates and patches the lappy is infected with the mblast virus that shuts pooter down after 60 secs
i get past this by using the START-RUN- SHUTDOWN -A so atleast i can stay online


tried doing a online panda virus scan etc but the no present active x controls etc are stopping that



i cant seem to get anywere



all i need to do is update the fooker and that will be that but cant get anywere atall

Wipe the fucker clean with Windows XP Pro and start again m8. After you've got round the active - x issue, you'll need high speed internet to get the 1st batch of updates before it restarts.
