Got pissed off with rebooting every 5 mins on 98se with laptop. Specs are 700mhz celeron (pentium 2 coppermine based) 348mb ram.

So im now running Knoppix 3.4 off the HDD after 5 hours of difficulty installing it to the hdd so it doesnt run off the cd.

But, I cant save my settings without creating a Persistant Home Directory. Which it wont let me do. If i put this onto a usb stick, and keep it plugged in all the time, will it allow me to save my files and settings, on the usb stick, and when it boots up, load from it ?

Also does linux feature some kind of quickpath system, IE using a memory stick as RAM ? I have 348mb of SDR SODIMM but a 4gb memory stick and a 256mb stick.
