Vista local security policy
After a year of using it, I finally find an MS "feature" that ticks me off.
I've got Home Premium. I discovered I have an old program I need to install, but the Program Compatibility Assistant won't let me. No issues I thought, go stop the service. Oh no, not that simple. You have to edit the local security policy to disable the service. BUT, Home Premium doesn't have a local security policy editor as home users aren't considered clever enough to be granted this option. Microsoft says you need to upgrade the Ultimate for that!!!!!!!
How pigging stupid is that. I can't edit a policy on my own machine that I paid for that will allow me to install software THAT I PAID FOR without hacking the registry (which BTW the key I need doesn't exist).
Grrrrr, bloody MS. Can't wait for my Apple Mac to turn up.
