xp install problem

xp install problem
Doing a fresh install of xp on my other pc and after formatting and when it begins windows install after about 2-3 minutes i get an error message saying it has stopped installation due to error on system
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
and tech info says
STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x202020CC, 0x00000005, 0x00000000, 0xF732A5ED)
atapi.sys - Address F732A5ED base at F7325000, Datestamp 41107b4d
My computer knowledge only goes as far as formatting and installing windows so be easy on me.
