A friend complains of the letters N and H are hard to press and space bar.

I dout you can change the keyboard part can you?

yep, easy enough to change, just a matter of finding a spare.

has he tried poppin the keys off and giving them a good clean first?

It will be crumbs and stuff got under the keys, you can pop them off carefully with a screwdriver or knife

oh right i didnt know you can pop keys off, never had a sticky key myself.
