Default Help. Evereything is gone

I turned my pc on today and it would open windows so i thought id look at it later as i was in a rush, I turned it on again later and It again wouldnt open up but said some different inforMation about , So i called tech support as it still under warranty and he said try a system restore etc, But as said earlier windows wouldnt open, So he said to do a system recovery, Said i'd lose all the programs Ive downloaded but i said not to worry Id get them again, What i was worried about was all my photos on there, my brothers kids when they were born, family events etc, So he said they should still be there, So i did as he advised got it all going again and now ,my pc thinks its brand new again, All my files have gone not to mention over 5000 songs i had on there, I want my stuff back, I went fucking mad on the phone to the advisor, He talked me through a few process to try and find the deleted items but they arent there, Is there any programs you can recomend that will search for lost/deleted files

PLEASE PLEASE HELP

What a twit he should have told you to pick a date like 2 or 3 days ago, obviously you picked a date that was weeks/months back(i dont know how long you had the pc)

Anyway once you do a system restore theres normally an option to restore it back to what it was BEFORE you did the restore? which version of windows you on, vista?

Sorry your first post was abit vague and i got confused!

Doing a recovery deletes all your documents i think, thats why you dont have any now, and i dout you can get them back unless you use a really good file recovery programme or take the pc into pcworld or somewhere and ask if they can find the files.

This is why you should back your files up so if anything like this happens you have another copy, we live and learn though!

basically a recovery is just format hard disk sint it? If its been formatted then no chance IIRC. What you want to do from now on is partition the hard drive, with all pics, vids etc on a different partition, so windows can be deleted and your stuff is still there

Check to see if the recovered file sizes look about right!!!! Recovery programs have a habit of giving you back partially corrupted data.
