mkv to play on xbox 360?
Anyone know an easy answer to this?
Short of connecting my PC to my TV, well not until I get my LCD with proper connection
I want to be able too, can't figure out conversion to xbox 360 playable format

Same boat as you James ...
The only way round it i've found so far is to use MediaCoder as it codes them back to .mpg/.avi whatever so you can use them like normal...
The quality don't take much of a hit at all and its free so worth a try for you mate.

Edited as didnt read your pc isnt connected to a hdtv... you can use the mediacoder to make files that play in normal dvd players/xbox 360 as a dvd film as i send my dad films through the post

OK lads easyiest way to convert them is a program called videora 360, its a free program. Try and convert it to mkv passthrough as it takes only a few minutes, if this does not work try converting to 720p MP4.

James, seen your post on avforums, I am converting an 8GB file using the mkv pass through option and it takes minutes on a quadcore 6600 system.
