I just want for all of AOL to go and I mean ALL of it not files still lurking around on my PC but I want all of my other things to remain there, surely fdisk`ing it will wipe everything off the PC?

Just uninstall it, then restart the computer, then delete the info in program files, then, use a registry checker like Windoctor From Norton's, and that should erase all the registry entries.

You can never clean a prog from the HD completely unless you over write it. Complex subject, but amazing what information you can recover from any HD, no matter what or how you reformat!

You can reformat a hard drive and delete everything by zero filling your hard drive, note on 80 gb hard drive this will take 4 hours, I have the software to do it.

I aint a computer geek,in fact you could write all i know about computers on a fag paper so when it comes to uninstalling stuff,i am screwed.I found a programme which is called "advanced uninstaller pro" on an american site called "cnet.com"You get to trial it and its bloody brilliant.I have old games etc that I have tried to get rid of before and I always got the error message "unable to find specified path or couldnt open uninstall log"This programme fooks everything over and dumps whatever you wanna get rid of.I am waitin for someone more knowledgeable to tell me its crap now.
