Default Burning DVDs

I have an AVI file which I want to get onto DVD so I can play it on my DVD player.

What can I use to do this? Not having much luck finding decent software. NERO 7 doesn't seem to want to work.

Or convert x to dvd. Both softwares can be downloaded and used on a trial basis.

Another vote for ConvertXtoDVD. Used to use WinAVI. but I prefer this progam these days!

convert it to DVD with the above programme, then use Nero (or similar) to MAKE DVD VIDEO DISC (or similar) and I've yet to have a failed disc/encode

OK you said you have nero, so rather than download all that other software you can you nero vision express, this allows you to select "make a dvd" you then add the avi file, make the chapters and menu(nero can do this automatically) and then select convert. It will then convert and burn this to DVD. The length of time depends on the speed of your pc.

Done that, it only likes *.bup *.vob *.ifo filetypes. Which XtoDVD creates so I can burn it
