Default router question?

hi, im using a netgear wireless router,was wondering if its worth upping my speed from 1 meg? ie will it speed up my connection even though im using a router? or is the router not going to be able to put it all down to the laptop? probly a really daft question but i have no idea at all about this

The max speed is 54mb...or was it 56mb.. dont remember at the moment
but that is the mas speed over wireless.
it also depends on your laptop what kind of wireless card it is.. b(11mb) or g(54) standard

ps: surly some would now say that you would get 108mb to.. but just ignore them


but yes, you would get greater speed on it
