Default hard drive question...

ok looked at a few progs now as my c drive is getting very full
now how can i swap everything over to a bigger drive without screwing things up ?
have looked at ghost ... the old fat32 version could boot from a floopy nd do it in dos .. but i am getting a bit lost with this version.. have also looked at using acronis true image .. but it will only copy the size drive i have and i will have to add another partition to that drive or loose a few gig
could burn everything to dvd i suppose but all the music etc is on the other 2 drives so would just be random pictures and stuff so not really worth it
any ideas ???

What are you trying to achieve?

Would it be easier to buy a new HDD, install the OS. Then slave your current one and copy the data to the new one?

Guess you dont want the hassle of that

yeah but the hassle of installing everything again got loads of stuff on this one would take bloody ages
i have a 60 gig as c an 80 gig as secondary storage and a 200 gig sata as primary storage.. and they are a bit on the full side ... wanted to get another 250 or 300 sata then probably a 120 to replace the 60 .. that way i can bung the 60 in the downstairs pc and give that some extra storage.. or i could just delete loads of crap it has built up

I use a program called privacy guardian off download.com

Whilst it erases your internet tracks e.g. cookies, address bar, it also cleans out all the unecessary rubbish too like recent doc history and all that.

Also go to control panel and uninstall everything thats shit and you dont use.

Also setup files for downloads, get rid of them after install and winzip files (those that have been unzipped keep and delete the zip file)
