is that any good/bette???. currently running an ATI Radeon 9550 LX (agp)and i find its crap!
pc spec is p4 3.4ghz
2 gig of ram
balh blah!

A Lot better!! Although it might be wise (and better) to upgrade your Motherboard to one that you can use PCI-E Cards in.

thanks for the reply, cant be arsed to change the m/b in truth. just want a little longer out of this pc before i change completely! amended the processor speed as well if that makes a difference!

Stick with that AGP cards then. Some people on other forums say that the X800 is better than the X1600 so you might want to give that a try. You can also pick up X800's S/H so they are a bit cheaper. Thats before you get to Geforce cards but I'm a ATI person myself.

will be better yes but id go for an Nvidia card, after owning an x1300 pro id never buy another ATI card, the fan was so noisey it was like a hair dryer almost, every time you start a game or something ive had a few nvidia cards and all have been great/silent


EDIT, if your getting another pc soon then i wouldnt bother, because for me if your getting a better card then id go better than what your looking at, but then theres no point because you wouldnt be getting full potential of the card because of your system spec

So i think id save the money you will spend on this and put it towards your new setup.................... just my 2cents anyway

ive had both a top of the range geforce and a top of the range radeon.

the radeon is silent and the geforce 4 was loud!

i have a HIS RADEON 1950XT ICEQ HEATPIPE SILENT 256mb pci-e, it does what it says, its silent and super quick, get one.

geforce 4? what the hell, thats sooooooooooooo old mate, its bound to be louder than newer cards
My old geforce 7600GT was silent, and my 2 month old 7950GT is also silent, it does have fan cooling but you cant here it at all.

One of my mates has an x1800 and the other has an x800xt and they both swear by them, they converted from NVidia and never looked back!!
