Uninstall Messenger, disable the restore-facility (if you're using XP), reboot into safe-mode, run a full antivirus-scan and delete any viruses, reboot into standard-mode, re-download and reinstall Messenger.

No idea what thats all about mate, ive never had that.
Is it somthing that stops you from doing stuff (until you click it off) or can you just ignore it and not touch it?
Im not sure what the problem is though

Wait till its on your screen then hit the "print screen" button on your keyboard. Open up windows paint, click "edit" then "paste" and the screen shot should appear, save it and post it on here

That sounds more like a Windows Messenger broadcast message than it does a MSN Messenger error...
If so, stop the Messenger service by going into Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. In the window which opens up, scroll down to find Messenger in the list. Double-click on it to open the Properties for it, click on Stop, and then set the startup-option to Disabled. Click on Apply/OK, and voila, you "should" get no more of them...

Good advice from dan
Also have you got a little programme called ccleaner? if not download it(google it) and then open it up, click on "issues" on the left hand side, then click on scan for issues at the bottom and this will clean your registry
trust me this little programme is excellent it will also clear all your temp internet files etc etc with one click, first time i used it i got 800mbs of free space

IMPORTANT NOTES:
- You must be logged in as an Administrator to do this. If you are not logged in as an Administrator, the System Restore tab will not be displayed.
- Turning off System Restore will clear out all previous restore points.
To turn off Windows XP System Restore:
NOTE: These instructions assume that you are using the default Windows XP Start Menu and have not changed to the Classic Start menu. To re-enable the default menu, right-click Start, click Properties, click Start menu (not Classic) and then click OK.
1. Click Start.
2. Right-click the My Computer icon, and then click Properties.
3. Click the System Restore tab.
4. Check "Turn off System Restore" or "Turn off System Restore on all drives".
5. Click Apply.
6. When turning off System Restore, the existing restore points will be deleted. Click Yes to do this.
7. Click OK.
-------------------------------
To get into the Windows 2000 / XP Safe mode, as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu". Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.
