Right i had wanadoo's "livebox" to connect to the net and its been playing up recently so i swapped back to my ADSL USB modem which works perfectly, but ever since doing so ive noticed my intrusion rate (on zonealarm pro)has almost doubled in one day, its like what intrusions i had got in 2months with the livebox ive got in one day now ive swicthed back to the ADSL modem dout its anything to worry about but just wondered why?

No i havent been going on any dodgy sites before anyone says it

What kind of intrusions, though? Anything specific, or just random stuff?

If Photobucket hadn't done it's resizing magic, I may have been able to read that!

From what I can read, though, I can't see a "destination port" in there, unless you need to make the "destination IP" column wider? Actually, looks like it's mentioned in the summary box at the bottom......have a look at a few, and see if there's a pattern to the destination port?

I've got a hardware firewall coming my way tomorrow, so should be able to log/detect/block any attempts at connecting to my home network from outside (my router does this already, but not sure I 100% trust a router to do the job of a firewall properly).

I wonder if this has some thing to do with a change of public IP when moving from the Live box to this other modem.
I know alot of ISP's use a connection on demand. But it is a possibility you have just been provided with an unlucky IP???!!!!

Try unplugging the line for 5 minutes and reconnect up. See if that makes any change.
