There are faint lines horizontally across the screen that flicker, what could be the cause of this? Any idea's as its pissing me off

You got your speakers either side of the monitor ?? Or a scanner or printer near it ?

 

Yeah the speakers are beside it but they have been for 3 years and never seen this before. Printer is now beside it past month but its hardly ever turned on. IT has more problems than the lines at the min tho as it just turns the screen onto standby all the time. But its not a faulty screen. Could this all be caused by a buggered graphics card ? Or is it more serious like processor on its way out?

 

At first it was interferance, so move the speakers and the printer away

Do these lines appear from the moment the pc / monitor is switched on ?

 

Im not sure cause u can only really notice them when its on like internet explorer because cant see it on the blue start up screen

 

Does it happen on any other applications ?? Does it happen after any sort of period of time ??

 

Just happens randomly and its getting more often now. It used to be like maybe once a night. Now it does it like 4 times before i can even open internet explorer or aol or anything
