Default removing volume icon from taskbar?

as title, ever since i bought up the volume controls yesterday its been permanantly displayed in the taskbar, but i want it to be hidden, or at least gone so that i cant see it until i click the little arrow to expand the taskbar.

Ive got tweakxp but there doesnt seem to be an option to remove sound icon , unless ive overlooked it or theres other ways of hiding it

right click on the task bar (blue bar along the bottom in windows xp) and click properties.

On the TASKBAR tab click customize and you should from there be able to chose which icons remain hidden.

however it is dynamic. If you refrain from clicking on the icon for the next few days it will eventually hide it again.

The sound icon was set to "Hide when inactive" but obviously it hadnt dissapeared yet so i set it to "always hide", now its still there but i have to click the arrow and expand to see it, which is exactly what i wanted, cheers guys
