Default WTF??? Windows Media Player....

I have been using Windows Media Player 9 for AGES now, and every month or so I get a little pop up that asks me if I want to upgrade.... Since I have started using MP3 files ripped from CD's more now for mobile use, I thought I would upgrade to Media Player 10, that lets you rip as MP3 rather than 9 that only lets you rip as WMA (which means I have to convert it all to MP3, then go back and fill in all the details like artist, track title, album title etc)

Anyway, I just noticed today - I cannot listen to the radio fucntion any longer in WMP!!!!!!!! I click hte Radio tab and I get directed to an "MSN Radio" page which choices for what type of music I want to listen to. But no matter which I click, all I get is "This page cannot be displayed". At the top of the player is some text saying I need to start an account to listen the radio which will cost 1p. Then it says EVERY time a SONG is played my account will be debited an according fee!!!!!!!

WTF? What happened to all the free online radio stations? Like Virgin for example? And the Webcast rock stations I used to get?

Can I not get these at all anymore? Can I not access web radio without using the MSN Radio that CHARGES me everytime THEY play a song that I might not even want to listen to?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I don't know who the radio statins are tho

When I was bored of listening to my MP3 collection, I would just click the radio button, and type in ROCK or something, and it'd show up a list of stations, and I'd randomly pick one.....

Can't belive they have blocked free web radio! It's FUCKING FREE ffs!!!!!!

Thrush have you got yahoo messenger? because on that you can play free radio stations, they call it "Launchcast" and you can click on the type of music you like and it will randomly play tunes from your seleted genre

Only thing is, you get something like 3 skips in an hour, so if you dont like a song it plays then you can skip it, but you can only do it 3 times in an hour
