Mercury Grey Series 2 RS Turbo Shell
Currently breaking for parts, including the shell.
For £300 the shell will include mint doors (undelocked). All glass except front screen and tailgate (has rot). I will also leave all electric window and central locking motors in place. But the loom will be removed. Also included is the log book plus all history I have on the car. Including HPI checks, old MOTs etc...
This will not be a rolling shell so arrangements for transport need to be made.
The shell is in very good condition. With rot in the usual places - fuse box, rear arches and very very slightly on one of the chassis rails. Otherwise the car is very clean and straight. The battery tray was replaced before I bought the car and is still mint. Also the front headlight panels (behind the bumper) are both mint but were cut to accomodate a 4x4 cosworth intercooler.
The car still has a lot of parts on it (e.g bodykit) which will be removed unless the buyer would like to keep extra bits (at extra cost)
I dont have many detailed pictures but will try to get some more if there's
enough serious interest!
The car is an 89 G reg. With 8 or 9 owners (I'd need to confirm) before it was dismantled it had covered 97000 miles. I believe in the past it has had a replaced off side wing and certainly had had a full respray at some point in its life. However everything is straight and the panels line up fine.
Reason for breaking is because the 4000 mile engine I had just had fitted blew up and I didnt have the heart to carry on spending on it after 5 years of ownership. A car with no engine is worth pennies and I couldnt afford to let it go so cheaply.
Ideal project for restoration.
In its current state...

How close to a rolling shell could you get it and how much would you want for it?
I appreciate there'd be no engine, loom etc.
But i'm looking for as much as i can other than that?
Cheers

if it was possible to source a set of shocks, springs and some wheels off any escort then it can be put together as I still have the hubs, driveshafts and rear swing arms etc...
Which I could probably sort for £450 (will also leave the fuel tank on)
The body kit is still on it but I'd want an extra £80 for that.
Other bits are still on the car, can discuss what bits you want left on.

right guys, I've been booted out the garage Im keepin the car in and now the car has to go in the next couple of weeks.
The shell will now include the koni shocks, springs, hubs drive shafts, all rear suspension. Doors, boot and all glass. And the loom will remain (fitted with an autowatch cat 1 alarm) so will effectivly be a rolling shell.
Price remains at £300. Going on ebay over the weekend.
