I've decided to sell my Orion turbo now after 5 years of ownership. I've come far enough with it and fancy a new project.
The car was 100% original when i bought it in April 2007. I bought it from a small garage in southampton who'd only owned it for a few weeks after the original owner had given up driving. He'd bought it new and owned it for 17 years! i've got all the old MOT's and some years the car did less than 800 miles. I've been modifying it since then and although ill probably miss loads the spec as it stands today is. The shell has done just over 45000 miles. i've MOT's to prove this. The engine is an unknown factor, but so many parts are new anyway.
Body.
Cat 1 Sterling 1 (same as toad) alarm. remote central locking, beeps and indicators flash etc, all the visual deterrents you want.
2 alarm fobs and 2 keys. Both keys work all locks.
Rubstrips removed as they were tatty.
RS2000 wheels recently powdercoated there isn't a mark on them. They have lots of fleck on them too they look stunning in the sun.
The colour is Matisse blue, they only ran this colour for one year on this shape, so its quite rare.
The cars original spec was 1.6L but the only thing left of this is the badge on the back.
the springs are -60mm PI and the rears have 1 coil cut off each. its been through 3 or 4 mot's like this though.
The brakes are RS turbo calipers and disks with Ferrodo DS2500 pads. Loads of life left in them, this car stops properly! Its never had ABS fitted being an L model.
Interior.
1600E Seats and door cards. The drivers seat looks tatty admittedly but its only cosmetic, its still properly supportive and adjusts all fine etc.
I painted the wood tops blue as the lacquer had peeled and looked rough.
There is damage to one rear doorcard and the fronts have started to lift but they havent torn. they could still be stuck down.
Headunit is an Alpine CDE-1038T . It has bluetooth connectivity for a phone, ipod lead straight into it, no damage on it at all, its usually left in the car tbh! Speakers i cant remember the brand, they're better than stock though lol. sony xplod subs in the boot, 2x12" . unknown amp.
Lockwood white dials.
racetech boost gauge under the 1600e amp (not connected)
Engine.
Polished inlet
Bailey Breather system
Bailey Header tank
Strut brace
K&N Panel filter in original airbox with the front cut off for better airflow. recently cleaned too.
Unknown make stainless exhaust. Heatwrapped halfway back, to the gearstick.
Water pump 3000 miles ago, along with cambelt (precautionary when the head was swapped)
all hoses are silicone, although they dont match.
There are some polybushes fitted to the front end, but it doesn't have a full set.
Norris motorsport Stage 2 head.
CR turbo's stage 2 turbo, less than 2000 miles old
GRS front mount twin pass intercooler
twin Kenlowe 10" fans
Copper core rad with 1 brass end on it, after the plastic OE split.
IB5 Gearbox with RS turbo S2 LSD fitted into it. This was a brand new crate gearbox when it went in.
Helix 4 Paddle clutch.
B&m Quickshift bought brand new from Christian on here when he had an order of them. This coupled with the IB5 box means a mint gearchange, and the stick centres itself correctly unlike a BC box.
New ford clutch quadrant fitted 2 weeks ago.
Vibra technics fast road gearbox mounts.
Ultra rare Turbo Technics anti roll bar. This is a copy of the Mk3 escort system which is superior but allows the mk4 escort gearbox cradle to remain. Super super rare as you probably already know.
Unknown chip but its one NMS fitted when it was up there. Boost is at 17psi. the car can take more but its the chip thats the restriction at this stage, it has a boost cap at 18psi.
The car is wicked to drive if you know what they're like, the stage 2 turbo spools up like standard and its really punchy, it surprises too many cars its a nice stealthy toy. not exactly a sleeperi know but its quicker than people expect. i've not had any power graphs for it though, i would've loved to but it just never happened. It pulls right off the clocks too.
Nothing wrong with the car im using it daily at the minute i've just come to a crossroads with it. Its either re invent it as i'm bored with it or move it on. I've always wanted a cosworth and now i'm 26, insurance seems more acceptable and i'm on better money etc etc i want to try it.
I defy you to find a more equipped, competent and clean car for the money.
i'm after £3000 ONO. come down, have a look and make me an offer. I've been as honest as i can. Car is located in the week 3 minutes from junc 6 M6, i work in Aston, Birmingham.
These pictures were taken this morning. Cheers for looking
Joe.

Shame that Jo, but I can understand your reasons.
Make sure you come by the Orion stand at shows if you're staying in ford ownership.
The only thing I'd suggest for something to try, is to convert it to custom management and really let out some horses. I am hoping that my megasquirt is going to give me back the interest in mine whilst unleashing the potential.
Plenty of car for that money, worth every penny, would love that gearbox and turbo setup!

Cheers mate, im gutted to be breaking it tbh, but i need the space and funds now for other things. I just grew bored of it. 5 years of ownership though i'll be very very sad to see it go.
I had a Pacifica blue equippe as my first one, fooking love that colour still but this is an awesome colour in sunlight make no mistake, it pops out at you. I was hoping someone would want it and keep it going and enjoy it like i have but for one reason or another unbeknown to me its not the case
