keeping it now!

no, i just aint got the time or inclination any more.
all enthusiasm has gone...
even after spending £550 on the DTA that i aint paid off yet...
cant stop the front brake tee peice leaking. i guess it just needs a decent goodridge fitting and couple of 90 degree bends, but im pissed of with endlessly spending money and getting nowhere.
i think in this last year i have spent about 7k
and for what
a car that still doesnt run
£500 will finish it, but ive given up
not touched it for about 2 months till today, and i just cant be arsed

not a lot went right. tried to make up a throttle cable using the original 3dr one, and that is basically shit....
so fuck knows what im going to do there....
if someone gave me 10k for it, id buy an elise and adui turbo it, or get a westfield etc

Awesome spec but unfortunately IMO its not to everyones or anyone elses taste. I doubt very much you will get a 10k bid as thats strong 3 door money and to a lesser degreee Escoss money. I think you should consider breaking it m8.

Surely using a throttle cable for a throttle on the drivers side would be better. (shorter?) Wouldn't a 3dr one be to long?
An Elise would turn into another project car and owe you yet more money?
I'd finish the 3dr personally if '£500' is all thats needed to finish.

i chopped it up and used a universal thingy that clamps the cable, bit like an old bicycle brake cable
but its not smooth so needs to be changed....
one thing on a list of many...

PassionFord Post Whore!!
if i were closer id offer to help finish it with you/for you mate. i know its all money but the car will be worth much more running than not. there must be someone who would do all the bits on it to get it running and ready for an mot for a few quid? perhaps consider that.

After our chat last night mate - you'd genuinely be a fuckwit to get it SO close and bin it off.
I got a bit like it with mine, just take a little break from it and come back
Or i'll bitch slap you

was seriously considering breaking it last night. our family runaround isnt going to last much longer by the looks of things and i found the wife on auto trader looking at a £1200 fooking vectra!
fuck that, id rater sell the 3dr in bits and buy an evo 8 than drive a vectra!

PassionFord Post Whore!!
Finish building it, Mot it, maybe Tax it for 6 months then sell.
Then buy that Evo you want.
Would not suprise me it if is cheaper to finish the 3Dr and sell thean break it. (time and space involved their)

Right! just had a bollocking for spending the best part of my nightshift reading the build diary.
so from that point of view I would really like to see the end of this story featuring you on some track giving it what for!
Cracking effort so far, and as already said you WILL regret it if you let it go now....

lol, cheers lads. well after working out id get at least 12k in bits realistically priced to sell..
i then went and bought more bits for it...
but still not had time to do anything tho and fit them.
for some reason work have recently liked sending me away all week to work, so weekend time is spent with the family. but i am now free of being on call until next year, so hopefully things will start to go again. i just lost heart and motivation, but i now have a few more bits that should hopefully get it on its way.
i still need to make up a trottle cable and get an amal valve and air filter, but those can wait until its ready for mapping. hopefully around xmas ill have a few days to tinker!
