1999 S reg VW Passat 1.8T £995 ono
Selling our passat as we have just bought a smaller car.
Its a 1999 S reg
1.8 Turbo 150bhp. Engine is standard.
94600 miles on clock
MOT until September 1st 2009
Good all round condition but not perfect.
Starts every time and pulls smooth and strong with no smoke.
Bad bits:
No tax.
No history.
Reverse lights don't work as switch on gear box is broken. around £10 for a new one.
Thermostat needs replacing as it causes temp gauge to drop to zero every now and then, common problem on these engines, again only £10-15 for a new part.

Only trying to be helpful...
A set of wheel trims and new number plate would make world of difference to appearance, and possibly get it sold a lot easier.

Top car for that price. 150bhp as standard. for £250 R-Tech will re-map it to 197bhp.
Thermo' might be ok. Temp senders on these are prone to fail. £24,86p from TPS. Sit at the back on the the block, takes all of 5 mins to replace

Id prefer you to take a look before making an offer. Just cant take any offers seriously until the person have viewed the car.

Also everything is electric on them, ultra nice to drive and I have owned a few estates to take my dogs round in and the Passat is by far the best. Very comfy, excellent on fuel yet can hit 60 in just over 8 seconds and 142mph with the re-map. 4 electric windows, remote c/l, electric mirorrs, abs etc etc and of course not forgetting the legendary VW engineering! This is the same engine that is to be found in the Audi A4 and Octavia.

Are you a VW salesman by any chance lol.
We bought it last September just after we got our first house, (sold our cars to pay deposit and needed some thing to get about in) Its a nice car comfy and quiet. Needs a few bits sorting but nothing major or costly. We have bought a Megane coupe (yellow ffs lol) only need a small car as there is only 2 of us.
It aint perfect but its cheap lol.

I read on here about the accident, hope your doing better now bud.
Gotta love the shitty working hours, i do 10pm to 8am mon-fri. CNC laser cutting. Crap hours but no boss's about to stress us so its nice and easy going.

Just noticed mate that you are saving for an Oct VRS...... Go for this instead!! £250 for the re-map, £100 for some 40mm lowering springs, RS4 alloys off Ebay for a few hundered. You will then have an almost 200bhp Passat which looks great and also wearing the VW badge, nothing against Skoda's of course
