Default Black Range Rover P38 4.6 V8, With 22" Wheels

I have for sale my p38 range rover, it a 4.6 v8 HSE with sport mode.

It is in its best colour, which is rare on these, most are dark green.

I have just had a service which included new plugs, ht leads, filters, oil.

Recently had brand new exhaust system including manifolds and cats.

Comes complete with 12 months mot and 6 months tax, have some service history but not all was passed on from the previous owner.

The car also has the follwing extra's added on at a cost of nearly £4k.

22" Vemiri 3 piece alloys, with chrome lip, a set of 5 that all have toyo proxes tires.
Front bull bars with land rover spot lights.
SIde steps.
Front and rear light guards.
2000 spec rear lights, front and side indicators.
Tinted windows.
The car has full grey leather interior, front seats are fully heated and electric, even the headrests.

These cars have everything you need, you get looks wherever you go and they can pass for a £20k car.

The car came with an lpg kit which i have only used less than a handfull of times as the nearest lpg station is 30 miles away and i only used the car as a second car.

I'm selling the car as i don't use it enough to appreciate it and its alot of money's worth of car just to be used once a week.

THE PRIVATE PLATE IS NOT INCLUDED.

Car will be returned on a M plate.

Please ask me any questions you may have.

I already have an escort rs turbo but i would consider a possible p/x. let me know what u got. cash my way only.

Also forgot to mention,

had a new battery 2 months ago.
Has had new droplink.
New starter 2 months ago.
Car also has

Cruise control
stereo controls on steering wheel
13 speaker stereo, 4 in each door plus subwoofer
anti-glare rear view mirror
2 way climate control
fully working trip computer
There is still probably loads i've missed but the car has too much to remeber.

£4000

ANDY T - no idead when the lpg needs servicing, it rarely gets used. not sure about 12 months tax, it would cost the same 2 tax as any car above 1.6

ARCH - 123 with part history, just had service

22's on a range rover only doing one thing

kill all suspension joints -trust me i know i work for em and we change A LOT because the car is not setup to run such big wheels, lpg conversions go wrong and are not worth it either. better off buying a classic for the same price in my opinion im afraid as at least it will hold value

was giving my opinion on the p38 purely because they CAN cost a lot more than people can afford to give out to repair and maintain.
if i bought a car knowing nothing about them i would be very foolish but would try to get all the info on them i could. i have simply stated that they have a bad reputation for reliabilty and general usage especially with HUGE wheels. christ most of them came with 16s! was merely a warning NOT me saying: DONT BUY THIS CAR OR YOUR A FOOL!
sorry if this caused any upset

Please read the rules of posting in this forum before making sweeping statements about cars in the for sale forum.

If everytime someone posted up a Cossie for sale and people that claim to know about them posted up how crap they are, this place would be a joke!

As it is, I'm leaving the post up here because I currently run a derv P38 for towing and would like people to know they're not as bad as others make out! Especially as this guys one is only £4k! How much was it new? £30k?

Incidentally, I've never met a main dealer technician who a) had a good thing to say about the cars they fixed and b) knew what the fuck they were talking about!

no because to use 22" wheels you need a much lower profile tyre so the cushion effect that the fatter tyres normally give is eliminated, but the ride wont feel any different because they are equiped with air suspension. the most common thing is the steering joints get battered.

good things about the cars i fix however:
disco 3 10 times better than disco 1 and 2, had such a bad rep in the states they named it LR3 and same with freelander which is called LR2 over there.
freelander 1 v6 is cracking motor but headgaskets will fail untill they have been changed for modified ones, same goes for 1.8 rover engine powerd ones.
classic, cant knock em no matter how much trouble they give you as they are a CLASSIC.
range rover sport, will only ever give you the same problems as the disco 3 as they are based on each other, range chassis is only a few inches longer.
LM range rovers, not many problems really apart from front prop and diffs WILL break until changed for modified ones.
LM superchargers and TDV8 - aka sports car with big wheels!
best car landrover make, something about being able blast past other cars ina 2.5 tonne vehicle, yet handles better than most cars due to the suspension set up and technology.
freelander 2, good motor just a tad overpriced still if buying new.
i think thats a fair assumption on the cars.
all may change come 2010 though due to ford selling up to tata this year.

in regards to main dealer techs knowing what they were talking about, there is a reason why the money is better in a delearship than in a backstreet garage;
we know our vehicles better and know the faults as thats all we see day in day out.
land rover is a prestige car company, not your local fiat/vauxhall/citroen/ford etc dealers they tend not to employ thickos as wouldnt be too good if we did something wrong on a 70k car would it.
anyways this all has nothing to do with this bloke selling his car, ive said my bit got told off for it and thus said sorry for causing any upset, so why you feel complled to carry it on i do not know, its almost as if you want to get into an arguement by implying i know nothing about the prouct i work for by hey il get over it so really the only thing to do now is we all just drop it.
once again, sorry

I'm not sure if you're aware of this buddy but the returned fuel is about the same as the diesel Admittedly, I only use it for running about and towing occassionally but I've never seen past an average of 22 ... plus diesel is more expensive now! I wish I hadn't bothered

So as good a reason as any for someone to buy this! Plus with this one you get the V8 soundtrack for free

If you'd like me to clear the shit off this thread just ask!

Thats a stunning looking RR and IMO is a gift

And these cars like any other have there faults , but it looks to me like this seller has fixed just about everything so should be a fantastic car for very little money

Good luck with the sale

Well I bought mine off Jay last year and I can't fault it. It costs pretty much the same as a standard family car when run on gas. If you're gentle you can see almost 25mpg but very rarely! Still who doesn't love the grunt of a v8 at full chat.
Good luck with the sale mate, looks a lovely motor at a very reasonable price considering what you've got going with it.
