Default ? gti locking?

my gti locking seems to be really odd.
1.drivers side only works sometimes, sometimes makes locking/unlocking noise but nothing happens.
2.passenger side door unlocks but only opens when key is in turned position and when closed locks all doors again, also drivers side remains locked?is this normal?

are my locks/key fucked or is it something else?

First things first, spray some lubricant [wd40 or teak oil] into the lock.

If you can be arsed to take the door cards off, spray some in the central locking mechanism and back parts of the lock too.

Whilst the cards are off you may see if there's a problem.

i had similar problems with my 3dr gti, it didn't always deadlock. it seemed to work fine if the key was tilted very slightly to a particular angle when i did opened/closed it. my cousin had the same problem with deadlocking on his cos.
