Not necessarily true. Saw a side by side of BF4 on ps4 vs pc on youtube, with them looking exactly the same. The PC settings on bf4 were all medium @ 900p with no AA.
He then built a virtual rig that could play those setting at 60fps+ and it cost $400.
Obviously this is only one game and the console will usually always be a cheaper option due to the fact its pre-built and sony are taking a £200 hit on each one.
It also depends where you live. In Brazil for example a ps4 will be retailing at £1150!!!
