Are cars limited to 70mph on a track day surely more chance of a cock up hacking around corners with gusto.
Track days have a fairly rigorous H&S policy - driver briefings, helmets, marshalls, flag systems, on site medics etc etc, plus the track day compaines are insured and carry out risk assessments etc. Brunters has non of that and is effectively 'lawless'. While it's a great laugh, it is also incredibly dangerous.

A certain other magazine had a 'thrash' which involved a very high speed crash. That crash could very easily have led to the closure of the magazine, and the imprisonment of several people.

It's also worth remembering that insurance companies aren't staffed by car enthusiasts. They're staffed by people who shit a brick when you mention that there may be the odd 20 year old Ford driven by an untrained member of the public at over 160mph.

As you and I have discussed previously we'll more than happily come along and report on a Brunters style performance thrash, but we won't be the one staging it.
