Right my cheapie mod is done.
I had a look on the net and luckily i had a MK4 Nav unit but was on a historic software version.
So about an hour of faffing around later and im all updated.

I think you will agree a Million times better...
thats a simple mod!
you can also do split screen if you go to the "set" option on the main menu screen.

you can display a map AND directions on the same screen by going to the "set" option on the main menu, and changing to screen option to "split"
this will make the right hand side show the directions and the left handside show the map
yours is a MK3 because its originally an X reg
MK4 came on some 2002 plate and onwards i think

the shark fin on your car is original bmw part.
it was a factory fit item not some cheapo aftermarket job
