So how far from the exchange are you?
Also,if you have poor telephone wiring inside the house that could be the problem, try looking at the master socket for the telephone, there should be 2 little screws that can be removed from the faceplate, undo these and under the cover there should be another socket, the master socket, plug you're router in this then try the speedtest again, if it's better then it's your telephone wiring in the house,if it's the same then the problem lies with BT.
Yes this is my next port of call, im going to go right to the entery point take my pc out side and plug it in there and do a test. this will see if its the wiring in the house.
fingers crossed it is the house, at least then I can fix it with out bt call out.
As stated i used to always get about 5, its only the last month its got bad
were about 1.3 miles to exchange. Nearesr neighbour is 1/2 mile away and we are the only house the phone line goes to up here.

So true. As said im paying £85 per 1/4 just for broadband and £75 per 1/4 for the phone
Swapping to the the bt combined residential im going down to £45 per 1/4 for both.
I cant see the point in paying business prices for sod all service.
