You're right Johnny moder planes (737's etc) are built to take a lightning strike - there was a documetary on discovery about them being made and they went through this
i like your example of plane is one that has had the most crashes and failures over the years
(yes i know its the most common but i felt the need to comment :P).
Being an airbus i've heard strange stories about these before with the flyby wire etc..... like having to reboot in midair etc.
