that's what i reckon. you have to think of things other than ford imo. no point thinking about an atlas as they are expensive as needed for rallying etc. you have no regs to stick to and no need to keep it ford, so look around.
just thinking out loud, but what about something from a pick up truck or 4x4? don't know what's about and what is strong (and has something like the right ratio), but someone might. something like hilux, nissan patrol - something with a big tdi engine might be able to handle the torque.
