Default Calling all Ford nerds - Sierra GLS Alloys!!

Having a disagreement with a mate about Sierra GLS wheels. I know the later ones had wheel trims like this...

But I'm sure that the early Mk2 GLS Sierras had pretty much identical alloys. I presume they switched to save costs. My mate is convinced they were always wheel trims, but I can't find anything online to prove my point...

Does anyone have any pics, or has anyone owned a Sierra GLS with OE alloys????

The vast majority had trims - but it was the early ones, I'm 99% convinced they were alloy!

Early ones had trims, later alloys as Glenn has shown. We had a brand new 89 glsi it was on trims.Plus out of the other probably 200 Sierras we had nothing except ghia,XR or cosworth came with alloys.Facelifts got them on the special editions as they were coming to an end.

The alloys in the brochure on the 92 car where fitted on the 90 onwards glx also. The glsi had special steel wheels with larger and smaller holes to line up with the wheel trim. A bit like the structure wheels on the 07 focus and vectra exclusive.

Sure they all had trims as in the first picture then moved to a different trim on facelift then finally a alloy similar to dog leg. The pepper pot type trim was on a mk1 2.0 is. I'd love one of them!

That's a sierra gt. based on a 2.0 lx but with b post decal alloys and spoiler. Some had special seats with matching colours to the paint.

All those brochures are way too new being late 80s/early 90s!
This thread hasn't gone nearly geeky enough yet to uncover any pre production (at best!) GLS alloys.
