Default cosworth yb block question advice please.

Hi everybody new member here and was wondering if any of you guys could give me a bit of advice? I was wondering if i could use a standard 20 block pinto in place of my original 205 block? the 20 block has been bored by 1.0mm and had a slight skim. i will be running approx 380bhp no more! i will be using cosworth rods pistons crank basically all cosworth internals. i know these are not as strong as a cossie block. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

it will work yes , but I would nt use it ,
weaker to start with and then its bored by 1mm ?
it would be ok for a na build but imo not a turbo,
plenty of 205 blocks about the country yet so id look for one of them
and can be picked up cheap enough too

stick up a wanted ad on here or one of the facebook pages
it doesn't have to be a 205 block from a cossie
205 blocks are all the same , whether it came from a transit van or 2.0 sierra
if you know any stock car men you could ask them

They are Pinto blocks anyway!

The only difference is the bore tolerances, the 'selected' ones of which were sent to Cosworth.

Once rebored, this figure is meaningless.

I believe the 205 is stronger than the earlier 20 or at least revised, so I would be looking for the former if I were you.
