Problems turning over when very wet, or hotter than 20 celsius/68 fahrenheit
Hello, long time lurker popping his up out the sound for advice.
I have a UK Mk1.5 Focus 1.6 petrol Ghia and I've had the fuel pump fuse blow on me twice in the past two years.
Now when the ambient temperature is above 20c/68f the car will start first thing, but when you start she will turn over but not fire. With the heat issue I've discovered through trial and error that it requires at least 1hr30 to cool down, I normally leave it for 2hrs
The same problem also occurs when it is very rainy outside. I've opened up the bonnet and have been patches of water in the engine bay, and that the rubber gasket that is supposed to watertight the engine bay from water running down the windscreen has water pouring through a gap.
I've had the cam position and crank sensors changed last year. I have no error codes from the ECU at all.
I've ordered some carb cleaner and I will try cleaning the idle control valve tomorrow.
I would appreciate any help with this. Especially as I sent £260 this week on getting the clutch completely replaced!
