Default Rev Counter

Hi all,

Can anyone help with this!!!

I am running a 2 litre silvertop on carbs in my 1982 MK3 Escort and using the silver Esc module. I have been trying to wire up the rev counter with no luck. Googled it over and over again and and found wiring diagrams for diodes to connect from the module but I tried this and the car wouldnt even start, just wound over and back fired.

Anyone know how to do this and can tell me in an easy to understand way??

Thanks all!!!

Hi mate, Im using the silver ESC module from a late MK4 Escort to control ignition. Plan to go Megajolt or Nodiz in the future but it does the job atm.

So does the module not have a rev counter or coil output ?

It has a green wire which apparently is for the rev counter but it is only reading half revs!

So what are you using for an actual trigger for this module ?

You can take the rev counter apart and there might be an adjustable pot to correct it, or you may need to use other means

Its using the crank sensor to fire the ignition and timing is set by inlet and water temp

So it's a modern wasted spark setup going firing into a older rev counter ?

You can get various pulse adjusters, but I'd be taking the rev counter apart first to see if it can be adjsuted
