S2 rst cutting out when warm
Hi guys need some help please
Rst s2 warms up cuts out when pulling away, won't restart until it wants to, can smell petrol so think it's over fueling ?
Thing is it's just come out if garage for same problem
They said the diaphragm in metering head was split,
It is going back to them ASAP
But just wanted to know if it could be something else to check for as I can't get it to the garage
Thanks for any help

Which diaphragm are they on about mate, think they are pulling one, you need to go to an RS tuners mate i would say, could be as simple as the CTS (yellow plug/switch) at the back of the inlet giving the wrong temperature so adjusting fuel wrong

S2 cutting out
They said it was the diaphragm inside the metering head where the red fuel lines go into it,
Said it was split and they had a spare one,,
The garage used to tune rs's and cossie's back in the 90s
They're based in southend
That's why I went there as my tuner is in London and didn't want to break down on m25 lol
Thanks for your reply
Ok I'll try the yellow plug when I get home cheeRs

That's what I'm thinking mate lol
It's bollocks really, they've tuned rs's in the 90s, they're an rs specialist too,,, I spoke to my main tuner who I've been using with my s1 he told me to check something on the metering unit, but it's all good there,,,, but I did notice the throttle position sensor is not clicking, I deffo know that is supposed to,
Also the yellow plug at the back of engine IS broken, I put back on now battery's dead 😡
I'll charge at work Tomoz and run it up see if it's cured the prob

PassionFord Post Whore!!
You can get it transported by some people for £1 a mile.
They may have tuned them in the 90s when reasonably new, but that's 15 years ago.
As said Jano is probably your best bet. Best off taking it too one of the best in the country then you know all will be good.
A bad tuner will only cost you more £££ in the long run

For my day off on, guess what I forgot the DAMN batt, left it at work like a right Pratt,
So,,, as it's dark when getting home I haven't try'd anything out on it yet!!!

Ok,,, just managed to get on the rs today, started on the key after plugging the yellow plug back on, warmed up fine, then the c***ing thing
Splutters and cuts out,,,
I mentioned the throttle position switch not clicking also,
I've taken this off to elongate the hole to adjust so hopefully
This is the reason
I'll have to get wet Tomoz as it's raining ;(
If all fails then Oddkidd can have a little look

Ok,,,, double checked with someone who used to
Tune rs fords back in the day, said elongating the holes on the tps
Will be fine, until it gets to where I want it to go
Anyways, the rst's running lovely now
Was a combo of yellow plug at the back of engine
Fallen off, and the tps not clicking
I'll take it to where I know and trust now
CheeRs for all reply's and help
Thanks agains
