Okay, I'm a total noob when it comes to electrics but I have bought an Omex rev limiter for my Fiesta ST and would like to fit it myself instead of lining my auto sparks pocket (again).


I have two blue wires - I have connected these two to the outter wires on the coil pack connector as described from a post from 2008 on here these are coil pack negative wires.


I have a black wire - I have used an existing chassis earth point and bolted it down.


I have a red wire - I found a random wire behind the dash which, using a multimeter, checked it produces 12v with ignition on and nothing with ignition off, it does.


The Omex unit won't power up - I think the problem is the ignition live wire as the cable i have connected it to has two red wires going into the same port in a cluster fuck of wires behind the dash and I have only connected it to one of the cables?


In the manual it says 'Red Wire - Connect this to the coil + terminal. If this is not easily accessible then this wire can be connected to any positive feed that is switched by the ignition switch'


Where I have connected my blue wires (into the outter two of three wires) am I right in guessing the middle wire will be the live and can attach my red wire to it?

What's the matter with the rev limiter that's already a part of your ECU?

An aftermarket part like this will play havoc with the car's ecu when it cuts in.

Don't guess wires, test them.

But yeah.. the centre coil wire is live from ignition.

And as above? Why fit a rev limiter when the ECU has one??
