Is a zetec turbo worth it?
Has many people built a reliable zetec turbo? Was it worth it? Would it not be as cheap to use a focus rs engine? What mpg does these engines run? Ive thought a lot about building one but i keep chickening out.
What manifolds and turbos have you used and what bhp?
If you fit an rs focus manifold can you only fit a turbo from an rs focus?
If i was to do it i would want a reliable 280-300bhp.
Does it end up stupid money like 4 - 5 grand if you do it yourself and shop around for the parts? If it costs that i might as well buy something like an s14 200sx that needs no work.
One more question. Everybody blows about duratecs with throttle bodies over 200bhp, if this is true why had the fiesta with the st engine and throttle bodies in the new ford magazine only something like 180 bhp?

mine is over 300hp runs consistent 12sec 1/4 miles and is very reliable. but did cost a lot to get it how it is now ,its all the little things that add up.

its worth it if its what u want mate, if you wanna go fast cheaply then no its not becuse ur building a bespoke engine not buying off the shelf
a good one built by a professional will cost u like 7k maybe 8k all in running managment, turbo etc
but u can easily do it your self for under 4k PF did it a while ago used black top 2.0 zetec, wossner pistions, std rods but shoot peened, uprated pins, frs turbo and manifold, zetec inlet, cossie injectors and gotec pro managment whink thats was all like 3.5k or something and made 24o odd bhp on low boost
they had some agg bein a black top but just use a silver top insted
u can use cossie managment and an escort rs t3 and manifold with adaptor plate, efi inlets, allsorts
