Actually i have taken about 300 pics so far in the build. I need to document
everything for the guys that have the final word in approving my build.
I an going for daily driver, drag racing, and drifting, and at the same time be legal

I had to modify the frame rail on the driver side also, I dont know if anyone noticed that.
It is only to get clearance foe the headers, when the engine comes back approx
70 mill.

I know this is just a little of topic.

But i am looking for some parts for my build. More precise
i am looking for doors, doorstep, and b-pilar.
Everything from a 3dr.

I am planning to build a 2dr sedan instead of a 4dr.
I think it could be insanely cool with this mod.

"Mark V8"

I am going to TIG weld a case for the heater element.
Might get a new smaller element from something else.
Nothing of original parts fit under there anymore

"Glenn"

Do you have any pics of the 3 door saffi`s ?
Would love to see what they look like before
i start cutting away the doors.

Then it is FINALLY time to start with the front suspension

This cross member came from a BMW E36 M3.
The BMW and Cosworth are almost the same in width, Bmw is only 8 mill narrower.
But the boltholes on the Sapphire is narrower that the BMW. So my favorite tool came out

Name: 20150419_153445.jpg
Views: 34
Size: 214.0 KB

Then i cut of pieces where the holes are. " after i have re drilled the to 12mill.
They only was 11 mill."

Name: 20150419_155321.jpg
Views: 36
Size: 226.2 KB

Boltet the ears fron the cross member to the car. And measured little. Tacket the crossmember in center.
This is how it looks like now.

I am going back today and work some more.
Going to measure up the centerline of the car, and mark it with some line.
Then i am going to measure the centerline of the cross member, and mark it.
Then i have to get those lines to line up. Then it is just to weld it all in place.

Will be back tonight with some updates..

More pics is coming today. Didnt get finish with the crosmember.
It is so tedious work. several small pieces to fit, weld, and grind.
And it all have to look nice also. So it isnt obvious that there has been big modification here.

Updates as promised.

Well it certainly has been a time consuming work this front cross member. But finally finish.

Tacked together. Here you can see the difference in width And i have cut of about 20mill between
the boltholes.

Here i have welded in a reinforcement between the gaps.

Name: 20150421_130838.jpg

Then i tacked a 3mm plate to the sides and bended it around the corners.

I have drawn a red line to show where i bended the reinforcement plate

I have to hone the boltholes a little. It was a little tight after all the welding.

So "tomorrow" i hope, i will get the engine back in. To see if i got the clearance i needed
to the oil sump.

Then i move to the next challenge. How to modify the frame rails to
fit the BMW lower control arm bushing bracket.
The ford frame is bent slightly inwards, as the BMW`S it straight.

I have ordered some racing brackets, that are quite smaller in diameter.
I will have to wait and see when thy show up.

But dont worry, there are plenty of work to do here, so this tread will not stop for quite some time.

Well guys, i got something done this week. I got the engine in again. (not the last time) i think.
I have to modify the tunnel more backwards. So that the transmission and engine will come back the last few centimeters.

Then i took a pic of the front piece if the tunnel, to see how it is compared to the trans.
I have to make some mods to it. At this moment it is way to high.

Sorry guys for the holdup in my project. The building i had my car in was sold, so i needed to find somewhere else to be. I have stored the car in a small shed for now. But i will see
if i can make due with that.
There is also my company to think of. Bad times here now, in the mining buisseness,
I might move my office to a different city.
SORRY for that OF TOPIC stuff.
But it was just some info to you guys, so you know that my project isn`t dead.

Hope to get back to building very soon.

Well i have some friends that have spessial connections.
They are going to be on the lookout for anything.
If they find out who, they will problobly loose more than a few fingers.

But i hope the police here can find my stuff, couse even if i get everything
covered on my insurance it will take more time to get everything back again.
