project ford fair UPDATE 21/02/2011
well ive got a 1.8 3 door focus
which was nothing special until i got really bored a few months ago
and fitted a few things such as
a fully rebuilt 1.8 engine
stage 2 crane cams
miltech 4-2-1 manifold + de cat
scorpion cat-back
k&n 57i induction kit with green air filter
300mm front brake conversion
kevlar clutch
aircon removed
b&m quick shift
its also just had a full re-spray
and a set of freshly referbed white 5 spokes
heres some pics
and here comes the intresting bit
its getting fitted with a set of gsxr1000 itbs and being ran on a mega squirt ecu
heres some of the bits
1st off got the st170 manifold and ported it
from this
to this
then i wet and dryed the inside of the manifold to give a smoth finish
(forgot to take pictures.could be something to do with my hands being sore after all the wet and drying )
the attached the silcone hose to the manifolds
then
separted the bodies from this
to this and then threaded bar through also
then cut the bar to the right size and tightend each one with nuts so they cant move
then sat the air filters on to see how it would look
i like
anyway thats the stage ive got to all thats left to do is
block off the injector holes in the bodies with 8mm pipe to supply the servo,
theres already 5x3mm pipe to do the fuel pressure regulator and map sensor.
and fit the st170 injector back into the manifold.
stuff ive got waiting to go on
are my spax rsx coilovers
and my depo lights
also orderd my 280mm rear disc conversion
which should be here on friday (hopefully)
thats it for now .. let me know what you think

ok small update
ford fair tickets are booked and track session is booked aswell
but ... i need help
looking at bulding an engine for it
problem is im fitting itb's and was wanting to raise the rpm limt to around 7500-7600.
i was gonna change all seals,piston rings,timing belt,tensoners etc
but was looking at upgrading a few things to help achive the rpm i want
such as
apr main+con rod bolts, fit my tage 2 crawler cams, and adjustable cam pullys
if i did that and fitted a harmonic crank pull do you rekon this would prevent the oil pump shatering?
another question is gearbox's
im currantly running an ib5 gear box(which are knwn to be soft) and a kevlar clutch
but was looking at a st170 gearbox does anyone know what is needid to convert it?
im gessing
driveshafts
linkage
gearbox(ofcourse )
gear lever
mounts
the other problem is i dont wanna run a dual mass flywheel so how would i get past this?
any help would be great

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
iTrader: (1)
I dont think the Getrag 6 speed box will physically bolt onto your block, if it wont then neither will the MTX75 HD version of your box fitted to the standard 2.0L, i think your stuck with the ib5 If it does fit speak to TTV regarding a solid flywheel and clutch as i belive they are selling the right clutch for it now.

things to do make a custome throtle cable
sort out some sort of air filters as its extreamly tight againt the bulk head

UPDATE
right so heres a pic of the clearance issue
soo using some really complicated maths (and gess-tamation)
i needid some more silcone pipe at a 45* pipe
so test fitted it yesterday
so that was the clearance isue sorted now i hato cut the pipe shorter
and re assemble the itb's
now they look like this
i need to modify the fuel pipes abit but its getting there now! (about time )
so re-did my vacum pipe so looks better aswell
so tomorrow's job sort out the fuel pipes
andd hopefully my soldering iron arrives so i can do the ecu wiering
will keep u posted on progress

ok so had a quick hour on the car tonight
sat the bodies in place and they were about 5mm from the scuttle pannel so i decided to modify them a little to give them extra breathing space
will paint it tomorrow to look alot neeter
sat the bodies in place made a custom throtle cable ( sounds expensive but only cost me Ł1.27 )
re attached the servo pipes and 2 bolts on the manifold(to hold it in place for now in case it hasto come off again)
tomorrow's job im taking this gear box out of a accident damige focus ( gear box was rebuilt 2500 miles ago)
and im gonna make custom fuel rubber fuel pipes just to neeten it up abit
and then reconect all the sensors in the engine bay
then after that ill be making a start with the ecu wiering (can u tell im putting it off)
so thats it heres another 2 photos i took
