still needing a few bits done, but has got the big gearbox and prop tunnel, new floorpans and almost most of the bare shell work done

planning (with a help from a few freinds) putting a 2.5 turbo from a focus ST into it, keeping it as a road going car tho, but with forrest arches ect and full interior... hopefully!

leave that volvo out of the picture, there is a lot of ford engines you could use.
zetec turbo, YB, or 24v-s.
for the volvo, its long and tall, hard to mount, also hard to get a gearbox for RWD transplant. lot of unlikely shxt comes up.
my friend doing it in a focus shell, but if he could start again, never go this way he said.

was just to try something a bit different, and to have more reliabilty than a YB... if its gets into it and thers a bridge that cant b crossed il jump ship lol

If the YB has been looked after and has had a freshen up it will be ok.The st volvo lump sounds like a good plan if you can get it all to work.

time will tell... im a bit away from puttin an engine in at at the mo anyway... on paper it looks possible tho (altho things never go according to plan) but guess we wont find out till it actually comes to trying to do it

theres a mk1 escort from sweden or norway i belive, and its already has this conversion and its looks the dogs, its a metalic gray colour with bubble arches !!! puts out a healthy 500hp aswell,

uses a bmw m3 zf gearbox, a modded volvo prop mated to a volvo 240 back axel, its a proper bit of kit

arnt these volvo engines ment to be cheaper to tune aswell than the yb ? i duno about work involed in tuning them but im sure there cheaper

nice to see something a bit different to the normal , good on ya and good luck mate look forward to see how this comes out !!

cheers seen that mk1 escort in a mag a while back (unfortuanatly cant find it again), thats what sprung to mind when i bought the shell, the engines are cheap to get a hold of compaired to a cossie one... by a good couple grand in some cases, not to mention a more reliable engine that u can get a good deal of power from, and they sound great aswell
