Default ibiza cupra track car

I thought i would start a thread on my car and the progress i am making with it or the lack of lol. Anyway the car was bought by my friend a few years ago as a non runner, he got it up and running and was using it as a road car, i bought the car off him and have started turning it back into a track specific car as thats all its good for really and the odd summer blast out.

Anyway the spec is as follows
350bhp ish
IHI vf34 turbo
jabbasport ceramic coated manifold
660cc fuel injectors
audi S3 fuel pump
aquamist S1 race spec
full custom 3inch pipework and FMIC(600x400x100)
piperx velocity induction kit
modified throttle body (cable)
Full custom 3inch exhaust system downpipe ceramic coated and oval tailpipe
DTA E48 ecu
vibratechnics race engine mounts
KW variant 1 coilovers
Brembo 4pot calipers and 305mm discs
Compomotive MO 5spoke wheels with toyo R888 tyres
Interior is
Polycarb windows
full cage from geronimo cages
cobra suzuka seats
6 point harness's
omp suede steering wheel
totally gutted

The car is at geronimo at the min getting the rollcage fitted so by tomorrow or tuesday i should have some more pics of a car with a cage thats half done. Here are some pics of how it looks when its all together and how it is now

As it is now getting the cage fitted

u got the cage yet? what do you reckon to the quality? heard some shocking reports on the mini forums and the one i saw was shocking! But they seem to have upped their game a bit recently and started turning out some good stuff.
their original cages were made from CHS tubing instead of CDS, bent with the wrong type of bender so the bends were crushed, and welded by stevie wonder!
last one i saw though was a nice fit and proper 38mm CDS and was a nice job.
i didnt know they did other cars tbh, thought they just did minis.

I went through and seen wennys cage and have a look at a few other cages he has done which were renault clio cup cars and they were all spot on. Bit shit that there are people unhappy with theres but i could only go by what i saw and everyone was spot on so i went for it and i'm sure i'll be happy. I am off down there today to get me seat rails welded in so i'll have a look at the progress and quality so far.

Matt were you the one saying "why do up an ibiza" if you are then i'm sure the pics above and the power to weight speaks for itself lol

It was a swine to drive when cold, i hated trying to go out in it etc, as it would stall a lot until upto running temp.

Was a good little car and awesome on track

My XR2 race car used to be very lumpy sounding till it was warmed up. Used to hold it about 1600rpm, watched that the oil pressure guage didn't go off the scale, until the oil temperature settled in the mid range somewhere.

The Ibiza looks very nice though, pic of the dash is just like my Fez ST, that I've spent hours trying to get the dash out of (managed it in end!)

Do you think it would benefit from slightly larger wheels and lower profile tyres?

not sure but there isnt much room in the rear arch's for bigger wheels. I think they come with 16's standard so would have thought he would have replaced them with 16's ? pretty expensive mod to make to find out that there possibly no better or worse so i think i'll leave it as is for now

Yes didn't mean anything stupidly big. They might be fine but if your finding you get more wear in the centre of the tyres then they're too small.

Looks like a weapon anyway!

No updates on the cage as of yet, i'm out in sweden working and have dropped him an email to send me some pics but he aint got back to me as of yet.

Its a bloke in Hartlepool near wennys unit, i had never heard of them untill wenny had his cage done there. I went through and had a look at wennys cage and the work looks spot on and they are reasonabley priced so thought i'd give them a go especially with them being local and easy to get to. Just waiting on some pics and cant wait to get home and have a look at the cage and see if it is as good as what i think its going to be.
