Default Red RS Turbo S2...Tidy Up !!!!

Right seeing how the bufty king (martin redrsmk5) has been down to my house to have alook at my RS, he started to help me restore the faded red bumpers, engine bay and anything else that needed doing. So once he started i couldnt finish !!!!!

The car looked like this when i bought it on fri...

It looks ok from there but the bumpers have gone slightly pink..

Not a good pic but you get the jist.

Anyway i started on the engine bay first....

Passenger suspension turret

And after abit of elbow grease to the left side.

Also polished the top of the wing and cleaned the bonnet rubber up.

Drivers side turret, wing top and rubber

Slam panel had abit of a polish (stickers were on, but removed to clean the panel)

I then had a quick clean behind the drivers door and wing.

More pics tomorrow as im off work so i will get a full day on it..........

I decided to start on the outside of the car today, i started at 930am giving the car a wash, i then had to t-cut the car to get rid of the pink paint, then i finished it off with meg's polish, i finished it at 3pm.

Here the pics..

You can see the clouds on the bonnet...

Reflections on the door

Reflections on the rear quarter

There you go, hard work and abit of elbow grease pays off !!!!

Can anyone tell me what i can use to get rid of the white/cloudy affect on the back box ??

Ive since fitted a set of clear indicators front/side..

And ive also fitted my boost gauge (the cars running 4psi!!!!) and surround..

Abit of an update, i had the cam belt, tensioner and water pump done (i had abit of a leak) yesterday. On monday, martin (redrsmk5) came down to my house and fitted my open rear quarters.....

A big big thank you to Martin, then after looking at ebay for hours i won a set of these which you dont see on many RS's, as everyone has the smoked ones..

So there you go, a couple of bits done but still along way to go........

Looks good mate. That cloudy effect on the exhaust, it looks from the pics like overspray, or is it actually in the finish of the back box? I always find stainless exhaust boxes hard to bring back up to a shine when they have been left to go all dirty etc before. I trust your using autosole yeah to help bring the shine back? thats all i can think of suggesting.

Mr S1, its my next door neighbours car, he got it from a company in scotland that buys and restores them, he paid alot of money for it and it took nearly 12mths to build.
