Does it fit with the headers that came with the engine or are they one offs ?

Any pics of the engine in place ?

Makes me a bit jealous given the snails pace that my project is moving forward at

More pics would be geat
I'm using a different engine so the manifolds/headers you're using wont fit, bet it's a snug fit though.

cheers

The standard 'header's are actually just log manifolds and perform quite poorly...

But that's a 01-03 cobra engine, not a shelby gt one

Tim has welded in a tubuler bar on the front slam for strength

and trial fitted the V8 figured out he has to chop 2" away from rear of bay into the bulk head but a man of Tims talents this wont be hard to complete

looks nice dunnit

heres some pics of Tims last Escos V8 on carbs!!! and NOS!!!

Cracking progress! Looks great in there, not much room though!

His old Escort looks factory!

Will the V8 make the car understeer with the extra weight or is the engine not much heavier than a YB?

should work out about the same/if not just a bit lighter,
as block ,heads, and box all alloy

my last v8 one was perfect on track and road, and you could hold it sideways when ever you wanted, it made round aboutsgreat for drifting

but in wet it would spin up in 5 gear but it was so easy to control,

Looks great thats a mustang cobra engine by the way not a Shelby. depending on yrs 300-315bhp, looking at the intake it a later one, Might also take another WILD guess and say although it a mustang cobra engine it was due to be fitted in a MG not a ford!?

Anyway if you need any parts for the engine when you get power hungry let us know, We do alot with Modular Ford engines, currently a twin turbo version of what you have there and also a 5.4 version with a 2.8 Kennebell supercharger going into a Ford Lightning, Both are fully built engines though as conrods are the weak link in them.

the one's used in mg were 3v per cyl and 260 bhp i think, it is mustang cobra svt lump, a mate of mine started the thread and put shelby ,when i bought the creat with engine, box, exh manifolds, cats, induction, all ancilaries, ecu, loom, eng & box mounts i was told it was 327 bhp, have done away with orig exh manifolds and cats,

have got bassani ceramic coated performance manifolds, will get running then will make my mind up what route i will go supercharger or turbo not sure yet
