Default mk3 escort zetec turbo, poss breaking, 23/10/11 gauging interest

started life as a 1.1, i brought it for £200 around a year ago on s2 alloys with 47000 miles on the clock in very good condition, i was removing carpet etc looking for rust etc and is a very solid shell. sat in garage for a while till thieves tried their luck.
so i decided to convert it to run efi fiesta turbo management, ran ok for little while but melted piston or cracked ring or something on 4th cylinder going to ford fair so decided its a good time for a resto die to odd lil stone ding etc.

engine is not out and being stripped for respray, will get xrt_si to post pics as he took them on his phone whilst helping me.

here pic of my escort before it came off the road:

cheers mate, its sitting on odd wheels due to the others being sold as i was having issues clearing the brakes, i decided i wanted big brakes behind the wheels so i mated st170 discs with alfa romeo brembos but couldnt clear them properly, so need to get comps. more pics to come still

1600i kit is going on it lol, along with top spots, and i have the hella square ones with the white covers for the bottom.

the problem i had with brakes was getting the inside of wheels to clear the calipers, "twins" has told me a 17x7.5j comp mo should clear? anyone got any? i wana spray them black if they are not?

i used alfa romeao gtv or omething like that, brembo calipers sorced from a breakers, 90 degrees union bends, 8mm steel to make brackets and i think 24mm countersunk toughened hex bolts, will get better pics at some time

Lookin' good!

Deja Vu to what I've got in my lockup as well

Have you got rid of the teeny skinny 1.1 driveshafts and hubs yet?!
One of the first things I'll be doing to mine very soon before they snap!

just a quick update as im STILL waiting for me mate to upload the photos. car is set to be sprayed 2moro, is now delocked, slam panel blanks welded over and smoothed off, so are redundant holes in the engine bay, have drilled hole to take mk4 washer bottle aswell as holes to run loom inside arches. clips/brackets are welded into the inner wings to hold the loom.

spent today getting some shot blasting done and burning out thew old bushes (damn i stink of rubber lol).
Rear arms are removed and are being replaced with others which i have just had shot blasted and will be painted and have cossie rear disck conversion.

t34 turbo is on order, polybushes i will order in the morning and rs1600i graphics are on order.

and having alarm etc fitted in the week .

il pester mate to get pics up

Looking good paul, why dont you set up a photobucket site and host those pics properly?

Kams orion looks ok in those pics, should be good for 250bhp when done. Central day bet is mine boys, car is going to go on a major diet and a decent remap
