Rs Turbo 2.1 zvh 500 cooler fitted
alwrite there people thought it was about time i got some photos up of my muched loved rs turbo. I have owned the car for over 2years now and spent jus about every spare penny i have on her. The previous owner had lots of history from power engenering with numerous graphs showing just over 190bhp. With most of my mates owning stupidly quick fords i thought it was about time the old girl got a wel diserved rebuild. My mate gaz woz well up for helping so we got straight on and ripped the old engine out, I decided to source the new parts myself as i thought it would be cheaper, but it wernt all this ended up costing me a small fortune. I got some .29 pistons, Kent cvh35 and vernier, waterpump, highpresure oil pump, ap 4paddle clutch an a load of arp studs and sent them all down to specialised engines in essex. I got talking to Ian down there and he was very helpful and gave me plenty of new ideas he convinced me to go low comp so skimmed the pistons along with some other bits, 2 weeks later i was very impressed with my new engine.

Final spec:
1620 low comp
high pressure oil pump
fully lightened & balanced
arp studs through out
stage 3 big valve head
kent cvh 35 cam & vernier
md 5th injector setup
rateck front mount
cossie fuel pump
stage1 cts box
With my mates getting involved we got the engine back in and running in no time at all. It fired up first time and i was extremely happy. I booked it into local rs tuners scc performance and they set it up for me as everything was all over the place. As usual it wasnt long before things went down hill and it started to be a rite pain in the arse to start. All this was down to the crappy old mfi system. It turned out a mate of mine darren cox was breaking his massive spec rs we arranged a deal and i bought all was needed to convert to dta managment, ecu, loom, injectors, group a filter and lots of other goodies. Darrens car was built and tuned into an absolute animal by frankenstein motorsport an thats where mine is at the moment hopefully to be ready by this wednesday an to say im excited is an understament. Will get sum pics up whens shes all finished Hope everyone likes them

Thanks 4 the comments people
The car was finnished on monday and drives like an absolute dream its like a new car. Many thanks to frankenstein it made 187bhp with 230pounds ov torque @ 20psi its only on a stage1 t3 so ive treated myself to a t34 an wind it up some more. Was hopping for more bhp but i cant complain as its very very livley to say the least. Oh i forgot to mention bein a typical ford the f*****g headgasket gave up lastnite

Had some good and bad news 2day ! firstly found out that it wasnt the headgasket theres oil pissing out the camshaft seal, even though its fully rebuilt by specialised engines 1500miles ago, bit worriying. Had the mot yesterday thought it was gonna sail through but failed on three bits of welding the bloke at the station is gonna sort it out on tuesday and pass it for 150 quid. Looks like im buisy this weekend taking out the interior. Is it only me that has this much bad luck or does it happen 2 every1 else ? ? ?

Managed to finish work early yesterday so i could crack on with removing the interior. As usual come across the odd bolt that didnt want to move. Took me just over an hour but i also ripped out the sub an amp as im not 17 anymore I peeled the carpet back and nearly fell over ats alot worse than i thougt and also noticed a patch that the mot man didnt spot. What do you lot think ? ? ?

After the shock of the old tin worm i lost intrest and almost sold up It ended up taking my local wanky garage nearly 2weeks to finish the welding but after finaly getting the phone call that she was mot ed and ready for sum more spanking i was a happy man . I firstly decided to leave the interior out and save up for a safty devices roll cage ( if any ones got one let me know ). I also got my bargain t34 rebuilt at turbo technics in a record 3 days and would recomend them all day long. Me main man gary ( gr performance) got to work and fitted the t34 and we cruised back up to frankenstein on saturday and managed a respectfull 219bhp with equl torque and iam now very happy. will get pics and vid up asap.

Well as usual things have gone from bad to worse, was boosting around the other night and much to my horror i hit 80mph down an A road and heard a sort of bang then a puff of smoke came through the vent and i lost power, although engine was still running, i switched off and quickly pulled over. I lifted the bonnet to see my minter engine bay and 2500mile engine dead and covered in oil The dipstick had come out and the oil cap was no where to be seen. I got the car up to frankenstein and a waited the dreaded phone call, it turns out piston number2 had melted slightly but WHY ? I am absolutly gutted as usual and realy cant see why im having so many problems with this fucking car, its a completly refreshed engine which cost me a fortune and is now dead. I have rung round a few other tuning companys asking how this could have happened and everyones saying melted pistons = running lean, but it was only mapped last week so who is to blame. ? ? ? Also after head was removed i was told that specialised engined never skimmed the head and also didnt use the lube supplied with the head stud and nut kit therefor head cant have been torqued properly. What do i do ? Do i carry on or cut my losses and break the bloody thing

st170 breaking
drop another seen running engine in and tool about again just at a lesser rate
flash engines are all well and good but all that money and still may drop its guts worries me
rather a std lump than a broken car
