Default XR2 Light Restore :)

Being as i now have another car on the road, the XR2 has been taken off the road as it needs touching up in a few places. Being as id killed the bottom end and front end had some rust i decided to start there. So tonight i went up my sisters where the car is kept and made a start.

Heres the first piccy of how the front end was:

Here is my trusty helper, Azzy

Heres a picture of the battery tray/front left slam panel

Heres a picture of it without bumper, bonnet, lights, spots etc

Now all i gotta do, is pull engine and box out tomorrow. Get trailer and take it to local bodyshop. Loads to do yet mind you. Dunno what engine im gonna be using. Any comments? Cheers

The usual place for it to rust then, you can get a new battery try c/w inner wing

You wait till you take the kit off thats the time to worry

Not putting a new battery tray in, gonna plate it and smooth it and fit battery in the boot I dunno how far to go with this? The garage aint big enough to completely strip the car to a bare shell.. so i dunno

Small update, returned today to remove the driveshafts and mounts and remove engine. Pulled it out and split the gearbox from engine. Now ready for the paint. Gonna get myself a trailer and go from there now. Only problem is my sister wants her garage back

Here are couple of pics, sorry for poor quality

Heres the engine half way out
