The Bear SI is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Project 1.6 DOHC Zetec fiesta MK3 SI

You might ant to read the whole article before you say but a 2.0 litre in it

Well Ive just bought a 1.6 Si with the intention of building an amasing
track day / drag strip beast but still be able to drive from A - B

At the moment The car is failr standard other than the exhuat from exhuasts Uk which means it big bore from the cat back and sound beastly hence the bear si

Well Im going to first get some nice AVO Coilovers and set of hi spec 4 pot brakes for the front and rea disc convo on the back

Then fit the nice 15" probs going to get some comotive motor sport one and either run Toyos Or rainsport tyres sugestions would be good

Then all the brushes will be gettin powerflexed with some poly brushes

My car will then look mean and stay on these rails everyone seems to slide off

Then ill get my front and rear strut braces and poss new front seats

Before the crazy part starts

The options are get a nice new 1.6 engine bore it to 1.7 fit a spacer

Then get a nice car head rebuilder to get me a nice 1.8 cylinder head prefereable a 3 series with solid tappets not hydralic ones and flow it to make big bhp and nice torgue

Then get a nice set of manifold prob from jam sport or might build a custom one

Fit some 800 cc injector or i may get some bell mouth throttel bodies
and fit a nice cossie ecu or might fit a laptop

Then fit a 30 - 50 shot NOS and a nice connector for the laptop

Then go and talk with a turbo specialist and either get a gt 25 or 30 with ballbering internalls and add some water injection and bog intercooler

Fit a 1.8 sump and new crank and conrods mgith get some low lift one for lower compression and bigger c capcity

Then some nice cam shafts and vanier pullies

organic clutch plate new gear box with big teeth and b&m quickshift kit

Then off to the dyno for a few days and get everything running happy with bp unltimate and castol edege oil set the boost NOS and ecu with the camsafts

This i hopeing will get the car to have in the region of 250 - 350 bhp and a nice strong engine and chasis to take what its got comming

Muhahah enjoy and give me your ideas and if any engine companies would like the work or to sponsor me go ahead you knwo it sound crazy but if everything runs then man ill have the first 1.7 zetec turbo that can thrash any car and then go again the ST in maybe win

so you are boring the block out to get more capacity and fitting bigger pistons. You sound crazy, you are going to spend a hell of a lot of cash for a 1.6 to be changed into a 1.8 effectively. The 1.8 already exists why not use that. SOund like you have more money than sense to me. you say you want a nice strong engine yet you are taking a stock engine and modifying it so its very close to the maximum tolerances so therefore not beign as strong as it could

and the only fiesta to have a side mounted cossie turbo lump was a bloke on here,if you knew anything about what you want to do,its best to do the easiest option,e.g buy a xr2i 16v engine and tb' it,if you want close ratio's,buy a 1.1-1.3 gearbox
